After many productive years, Gael Linn (a record company which emerged from football pools – hence the “Linn” in its name) announced around the turn of the century that its label activities would be downgraded and moved from its high profile Dublin city centre location into the suburbs. After which it released a few albums, but the process seemed to stop in 2002.  Subsequently, the company moved back into the centre, basing itself at 35 Dame Street and has released a slow trickle of new albums as well as reissuing lost vinyl classics on CD format.
